Terms & Conditions

1.0 VAT Relief

Where applicable, VAT is payable on all invoiced prices at the appropriate rate. If you do not qualify for VAT relief or the product is not zero rated, we will need to charge the appropriate VAT to the total amount.

By completing the VAT Relief section you agree to the following:

  • You are a registered charity, chronically sick, disabled or the products to be purchased are for an individual for one of the above and eligible for relief from VAT under the VAT ACT 1994.
  • The products being supplied are for personal or domestic use.

Please note there are penalties for making a false declaration which could result in the purchaser paying the difference in VAT.

1.1 Warranty Policy

1.1a – New items are supplied under manufacturer’s warranty. Subject to the terms of that warranty, the goods are covered by guarantee for a period of twelve months from the purchase date.

1.1b – Reconditioned/refurbished items supplied by Shire Mobility Ltd (the supplier) do not come with warranty unless specified by the company. Please note the above does not affect your statutory rights.

1.2 Ownership of Goods

Ownership of the goods shall not pass to you until Shire Mobility Ltd has received payment in full all sums due for those products. Shire Mobility Ltd shall be entitled to recover (and reserve the right to take action) for non-payment for goods not withstanding that ownership of the goods has not passed from the supplier.

1.3 Returns

1.3a – Shire Mobility Ltd is not obliged to accept the return of goods found not required after purchase and reserves the right to offer a credit note as an alternative.

1.3b – Unless faulty all refunds considered will be subject to a restock charge of 25% along with associated delivery and collections charges.

1.3c – If agreed to, any goods accepted for refund must be unused and in their original packaging.

1.4 Non – Returnable Products

1.4a – For reasons of hygiene and cross infection, Shire Mobility Ltd returns policy does not  extend to the following products – chairs, beds, mattresses, toppers and pillows, all hygiene products including urinals, commodes and compression stockings/tights bath lifts or similar items.

1.4b – Non stock items (special orders) cannot be returned unless faulty.

1.4c – Bespoke items made to meet your order are strictly non-cancellable, non-returnable and non-refundable. In the event of a fault your statutory rights are not affected.

1.4d – End of line, ex demos and refurbished products cannot be returned unless faulty.

1.5 Cancellation/Amendments of an Order

Goods that have been personalised, customised, made to order or a special order, you (buyer) have a right to cancel the order only until we or our supplier begin work on that order. In many cases work starts immediately on an order so it is important that you are happy with the details of that order. Orders cannot be cancelled or amended except if agreed with Shire Mobility Ltd.

1.6 Privacy

We do not sell trade or rent your personal details to others.

We may use the information you provide when placing an order to provide service to that order. We do not share your information with outside parties except to the extent to provide the service.

We may use the information you provide to send periodic mailings to you such as servicing of a product.

1.7 Disclaimer

Shire Mobility Ltd is not a substitute for independent professional advice and users should obtain any appropriate professional advice relevant to their particular circumstances. Any information and guides issued by Shire Mobility Ltd or verbally over the phone/email are issued as general information and does not constitute a warranty nor should be taken as advice.

1.8 Complaints

Shire Mobility Ltd endeavour to provide the best service and products for our customers; however we recognise that there may be rare occasions when our customers may not be completely satisfied. Where we cannot resolve a complaint using there is another option available detailed below:

Shire Mobility Ltd is a member of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) and has signed up to its trading standards code of practice. If you are unhappy with the outcome of a complaint and have exhausted our complaints process, you can approach the BHTA for mediation (and ultimately arbitration) and, as a member, we will participate in the process free of charge. On the Friday 22nd of December stores will be open from 9am to 12pm and will then close and re-open on the 2nd of January  2024 with normal  working hours from that date.
